A finales de enero, la Asamblea analiz\u00f3 el veto parcial enviado por el Poder Ejecutivo a la <\/span>reforma<\/span><\/a> a la<\/span> Ley<\/span><\/a> de Comunicaci\u00f3n impulsada por el gobierno que declara que la comunicaci\u00f3n en Ecuador es un derecho humano y no un servicio p\u00fablico. En su nota, el presidente Lenin Moreno se\u00f1al\u00f3 que existen nuevas tecnolog\u00edas para comunicar informaci\u00f3n que no se limitan a los medios tradicionales y propuso la inclusi\u00f3n de las plataformas digitales.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Para el poder ejecutivo, definir a los “medios de comunicaci\u00f3n” en funci\u00f3n de la forma de organizaci\u00f3n, supone ignorar la existencia de otros mecanismos de difusi\u00f3n de informaci\u00f3n que no realizan esta actividad a trav\u00e9s de asociaciones u organizaciones, sino que lo hacen de manera individual.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Los y las asamble\u00edstas rechazaron el planteo y ratificaron la reforma tal como <\/span>fue aprobada en diciembre<\/span><\/a>, al considerar que la inclusi\u00f3n de las plataformas digitales permitir\u00eda eventualmente al Estado limitar, restringir y prohibir de manera directa o indirecta la libertad de pensamiento y de expresi\u00f3n. Tambi\u00e9n declararon que el veto no har\u00eda m\u00e1s que rehabilitar el “retroceso de derechos con mecanismos de censura”, habilitado por la ley original del a\u00f1o 2013.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>
